Which Flanger? MXR VS. EHx

One does the Police, Dinosaur Jr. and The Cure.

The other does Van Halen... and some other stuff, I'm sure.

I like both. Which do you like? Same price more or less (about $90).

These are the pedals I want. If it's not here, don't recommend it.

MXR, at least from those demos. With the EHX, I was hearing too much flange and not enough guitar. The MXR seemed a little more "musical," whatever that means.

But audio in the first video is so much better it's hard to say.

flangers can be so overpowering. Id rather have an old boss one cos it has more contol over the resonance and depth- or a real electric mistress (although its much bigger).

If it was Electric Mistress vs MXR I'd go Electric Mistress but this Neo Mistress at least in that demo seems to flangy still deep and not metallic like a BOSS but it makes it tougher.

I've been thinking about getting one of the Ibanez Paul Gilbert Airplane Flangers.

i bought a MXR Micro Flanger last year... one minor complaint is i can tell it's in my signal chain even when it's off when i use it before the amps preamp... but it's a nice sounding flanger... i use Flangers a lot more then most FX's...

i do like it... and the price was nice...

I can definately tell a major difference between the mxr's and the ehx's, I def dont think either is better, but i like my mxr flanger(full size) because I prefer subtle and warmer modulation over the metallic sounding ehx's

I've been grooving on Hair metal with a subtle flange lately. Just a little different sound...very catchy if not all jet swooshed!

Between the 2 I'd take the MXR. Have you heard the new TC Vortec? Sounds pretty nice and has tone control. This reminds me of the Phase 90 Script I had, and liked but wished it had tone control.

i bought a BF2 in the late 80's and have pretty much called it my main Flanger since... i've only started looking at replacing it over the last few years... the MXR Micro is good...

The Micro Flanger sounds REALLY good and is real easy to dial in.
