The only Ibanez I have prior is my RI Destroyer DT420 I got from Bro Jeff B . If this RG421 works out as well, I'll be interested.

Nice. I have a black one with triple super 70's. Awesome guitars.

Is yours a DT155? They're Killer! That's what I wanted back in the day, but I was a poor college student then and lucky to hang on to the gear I had. By the time I was looking again, the DT155s were like Unicorns.
Still I was fortunate to get my DT420 and I'll never part with it. Unless Jeff B needed it back. It's a fantastic playing guitar. There are some better (than my crappy cell phone) pics of mine here:

I have been mulling over sending Ibanez an email to see if they would give the neck a good sprucing up.
Ibanez only does service for "name" artists on their endorsement roster.
Martin does a sprucing up service but it usually costs as much as a new guitar
I'll destroy any possibility for you to ever buy anything burled ever again. Burled wood happens when there is a horrible tragedy and the faces of the damned become trapped in the wood. See them? Screaming to get out....

I don't know if it is gonna be easy to get ahold of the proper people at Ibanez, unless you know someone there.
email is cheap, lets find out.
probably talk to that company in Bensalem that imports them Hoshino Gakki
I have had conversations with them before
they dot do much more than setups and stuff
