There is a very long bitter debate over this.The short version is both are very good pickups. I have both. Comparing the two, the USA sounds more like Dimebag than the Wilde, whereas the Wilde sounds closer to a Duncan JB.

There used to be a debate that the Wilde was copy or counterfeit of the Wilde.Both sides were be wrong

this subject is kind of funny ... i remember when they first announced that some of the L-500 pickups were fake i remember someone posting that they had the fake pickup so they thought it was garbage . i have a fake one it sounds great. dimebag used the fake one as well it sounds very nice. anybody not knowing the story would hope they had the real deal . but is there any real difference in the 2 pickups

The Bill Lawrence USA ones are made on the original equipment to the original specs. They're just not made by Bill Lawrence himself. Those are the Wilde ones.

I actually think Dimebag's pickup was from when the the two guys were still partners....
The Wilde Vs. Bill Lawrence USA is a result of business deals gone bad.
The "real" Bill Lawrence (Willy Sticht) is Wilde. I like the Wilde products and they are a great value.

i prefer the ones from the real bill and becky. i have called and talked to becky several times. they are very nice and helpful.
