Hey Guys.
How are yah? Q: P
I got some BUCKS to buy my LAST guitar. Im not EVEN Sure im going to continue playing guitar anymore. SO... i always wanted a JACKSON guitar. And NOW i want to go for IT.
But i want some help from You. i searched on Ebay and in some shops but they are flooded with these X series that i believe arent MADE in japan models. so i discarded the option.

what i want is a Japanese made Jackson Guitar
2 humbuckers routing.
Dinky or soloist body.no pointy body.
neck Thru Or bolt on Neck. i would preffer a Neck thru, since i never owned a Neck thru guitar. but im unsure if my budget will cover a neck thru model.
24 Frets. no 22 this time.
Floyd rose bridge. and the body COULD Be a Mahogany. but again im unsure about my Budget

I have 1600 Brazilian Money here, and thats 800 dollars. a bit less.
so lets say its 700 Dollars. BUT AGAIN, ill have to pay some heavy taxes when it arrives to me. ill recalculate it to 500/600 USD.

What kind of jackson(according to my limitations and pre requirements) would you recommend me? it can me used, but i would preffer to get it New. and with a hard case for sure.

Ah please, link me with a Place where i could order it.
Buying it in brazil is unacceptable. too expensive.

Thanks in Advance.

Re: Which Jackson To Buy?!?!

I don't wanna poo poo your parade, but a real jackson guitar gonna run your 2,500$ USD, everything else is mass produced in china and S. korea, I think even the japanese factory jackson used got shut down if i recall.

That all being said, i think there are a few local brazilian guitar brands that can give you the sound you're looking for if not.

For your money you probably better off getting a esp ltd deluxe model http://espguitars.com/guitars.html , good luck

Re: Which Jackson To Buy?!?!

Hey. A Jackson is a wise purchase. The Japanese plant did get closed down so nothing new is coming from there. The used market is full of Japanese built Jacksons that are very good quality. Being as you've never owned a neck-through I would stay that way. There is a big difference in neck thickness, size and feel between bolt-ons and neck throughs. The easiest find by far would be either a DK2 or a DK2M the same guitars except the m has a maple fretboard and the other has a rosewood board. They both have alder bodys, Floyd Rose copy trems and generally a JB and Jazz pickup set. The necks on them are pretty thin too, as thin as an Ibanez neck but cut a little different. They can be had for around your budget aswell. I love Jacksons, but it's my thing. The best thing you can do is get somewhere that has one to try it first, if at all possible. It's all personal taste. There is of course all of the older guitars they've made aswell but that would take forever to go over and I'm not really qualified to confuse you about all of them, lol. All things about any guitar are objective to what you like, it's you that has to like it. Good luck.

Thanks for the input man
thats the reason i choose jackson.
i played a DK2M in Germany and i liked the neck a LOT.
disliked the body. but its not a big deal. i can get used to it.
im thinking of getting that guitar. im just not finding it online to be bought.

Re: Which Jackson To Buy?!?!

I've seen a few used SL-3's lately that would easily fit your price range. That's a solid guitar with only the Floyd-licensed trem leaving anything major to be desired.

Re: Which Jackson To Buy?!?!

I met a guy with a new Dinky (possibly Indonesian made) at a luthier's workshop. His Jackson was new but the frets buzzed all over, they had to be filed.

Good deals are to be had on used USA Jacksons these days, I've seen many, and got my own, for $899.

The MIJ Professional series from the late 80's to early 90's are gems, They are for the most part identical to the USA models- they were so good they were cutting into sales of the USA ones, so they stopped making them.

Re: Which Jackson To Buy?!?!

In your price range I love Deans. I have a deceiver w original Floyd and real emgs. Killer guitar if u can find one used.

Re: Which Jackson To Buy?!?!

I know you said about $800 U.S. I've seen really nice, almost brand new USA made Jackson soloists on EBay go for around $1000. That might be what you want to shoot for. Other models like the King V and Kelly seem to be more rare. Yes, brand new, they are $2500 but there's no need to buy guitars new.

For reference, I got a brand new show room Jackson SL2H MAH (Mahogany with maple top) for $1350. (Check out what SL2H MAH retail for)

Re: Which Jackson To Buy?!?!

His price point was to include shipping and all taxes that are required to get a guitar into his country. Just saying.
