Which Kramer Guitar model do you prefer

Re: Which Kramer Guitar model do you prefer

Walt, the reissues are $1000 or more but you can find 80's Barettas for a lot less if you look hard enough. Just remember, "Thou shalt not route Barettas for neck humbuckers." LOL :)

If I'm luck enough to find one, I swear to the gods of the guitar world that.....

I shall not route for neck buckers
I shall not route for neck buckers
I shall not route for neck buckers
I shall not route for neck buckers
I shall not route for neck buckers

If you want to go the parts guitar route in a Kramer style, check out Southeast Guitars and Mean Street Custom Guitars.

I have an 80's (probably 86 or so) Kramer Focus 3000. I bought it because it was $300 and looked brand new. They had a new one there too for $650 or so. It is H-S-S, and routed that way under the pickguard. I didn't like it that much back then so I started chopping it up to put a humbucker in the neck. That's when I found out it was a pretty solid guitar made of alder. It has gone through several makeovers since then and now has two 59's in it with a hot stack in the middle. Sounds great.

You better not, or the Kramer geeks on this forum (Erik and I) will hunt you down and beat you w/ a feather pillow.

But yeah he's right. If you're wanting a Pacer Imperial style guitar definately check out Warren at www.southeastguitars.com for the body and there's the Frankstraat guy that does really good copies of the banana and beak style headstocks.

I have a Kramer Focus 6000 I picked up for less than $200 It is one of my fave guitars to play. I am a big fan of charvel/jacksons and I have to say I am playing the Kramer more than any guitar I have owned ,the neck really is extremely well built and a pleasure to play

Re: Which Kramer Guitar model do you prefer

I have had many Kramers and old Pacers (DLX, Imperial, PC1, PCII, Specials) Focus 1000, 2000, and 3000's. All of these are worthy and most USA Kramers came with Seymours. Also a +1 for Warren at Southeast Guitars. Chris at Messiah Guitars was an old Kramer forumite and does great work also. http://messiahguitars.com/home1

Here is a link to Vintage Kramer you can read up on the different models and check specs and stuff. It has a lot of good info.

Arise ye oh thread of ancient!!!

I guess since its up here Ill toss in my 2 cents.. Yeah, strikers were ply. Tho the one I had played nice and felt good. And really came to life after I had a JB put in it.
The Focus series were Japanese built and EXCELLENT guitars! I REALLY REALLy regret selling the awesome 6000 I had. ( I had a few and a couple of 1000s as I wanted an old Baretta) But the one 6000 was really something.
I currently have a Pacer that is fab. And one of my dream guitars is a Stagemaster.. I cant remember the model that the one guy in Queensryche played. I was very pointy and was an American version of the Focus 5000 I believe. I loved that model but cant think of the name. They also played a Pacer Carrera too.
