Which P90???

as others said, a vintage p90 is what was in the guitar but was boosted by a rangemaster treble booster into a laney amp. if you have a similar rig, get the duncan vintage p90 bridge model. its a bit hotter than a 60's gibson p90, but most people like that in the bridge position, especially of an sg.

now if your rig isnt similar, then knowing what youre playing though will help us point you in the right direction

Thanks everyone for your responses. I feel kinda like a dumbass, I should have stated that I am not trying to copy Black sabbath’s tone. I was wondering which type of p90 pickup a vintage or higher output would be better suited for the heavier music.
So would a vintage spec p90 have more growl over a higher output one. My amp is jcm 800 type amp. My only experience with a p90 type pickup are the mean 90’s that I just installed in an older Schecter solo6 hellraiser and I have to say the guitar awesome now. I like the tone so much that I want to buy a used p90 guitar and put a set of better performing p90’s in it.
Thanks again everyone

i find the more vintagey type growl more. duncan vintage model is a great pup! i love the antiquity pup but not everyone loves the aged a2 magnets since they arent the "classic" p90 sound. a mag swap and you have an amazing "classic" p90 tone though
