The most versitile combination in a 3 pup setup
Check it out:
For each pickup you have a dpdt (2 way) switch for:
coil split/full humbucker, internally out of/in phase, internally series/parallel.
Then, for each pickup, have a push/pull pot for on/off.
Then you get 3 groups of switches, each controlling how the pickups are wired together. One group controls the bridge/mid connection, one controls the mid/neck connection and one group control the bridge/neck connection. Each group has 2 dpdt (2 way) switches for:
connected parallel/series, connected in/out of phase.
So, that's 15 switches and 3 push pull pots, and dozens of different tones. In reality, you'd probabally end up only liking maybe 7 of the possible tones you can get, which is why people never really do crazy stuff like that.
