His guitars have typically had maple bodies, and prior to the Demon, he used the Distortion.

He used(/s) ESP guitars a lot, and with the maple bodies, and Distortions.

I think he used the JB at some point, too. When he did that ESP baritone recently, he mentioned using the JB, as he'd always liked it.

Distortion. He stated he never liked the tone of the JB (JB was used by Warren from Ratt).

He used Pearly Gates too, before the Demons.

To note Jake used the SD Allen Holdsworth model... he had a sweet tone.

Why do I think that was the origins of the demon? didn't he get seymour to totally jack-up a PG?

at least one PG in an ESP...because I installed it sometime in 1987.

I bet Evan could write a novel sized post on this. I hope he chimes in and tells us a story.

Evan, we are ready for story time!!!!!!

Distortion. He stated he never liked the tone of the JB (JB was used by Warren from Ratt).

When he was on here a few years ago he mentioned that he never could never get use to the Distortion and preferred the JB. And that he had went back to the JB for the Lynch/Pilson "Wicked Underground" album.

2 old Guitar World magazines from the late 80s state that his guitars he used live had the Distortion pup in them. If your going for that `83-`87 Lynch tone the Distortion pup will get you there with the right amp and/or pedal. The Custom also does a good for me.

I always thought a Distortion in a maple body, but I'm getting very close to the tone with a JB in an SL2H.

He basically used the over-powered JB's and Distortions to drive his plexis. When he switched to the high-gain Soldano's for the Lynch Mob, he went with the lower output Demon.

Duncan Distortion is the pickup you need as this was his favorite and is used all over Tooth and Nail, Under Lock and Key, Back for the Attack and Wicked Sensation. The second Lynch Mob album to present is his signature pickup the screamin demon...As to which one I prefer it depends on the wood and guitar. For bright guitars I like the demon. For dark guitars I like the distortion.

The PG was in his Graffiti guitar. He used so many guitars and pickups in those days it's kinda hard to tell, but he was always associated with the Distortion. I remember seeing a Full Shred listed on the SD site once too. I played his Haji back at the beginning of summer, I don't remember if it had a '59 or a JB in it at the time. The guy used to change equipment as much as he changed his underwear. Okay, scratch that, I don't know how often he changed his underwear...
