Which SD sounds like this?

Hi everyone I'm new to this forum as well as new to guitar world

My question is which Seymour Duncan pickups sound very similar to the one in the link below? I know this guy is using Lundgren pickups however I would prefer to get SD which will sound similar. :grumble:

Re: Which SD sounds like this?

About half of them can do it, depending on your amp and how you set it up.

Re: Which SD sounds like this?

Alright, Can you name one SD model which you think will do the job?

Re: Which SD sounds like this?

JB/59 Set or Pearly Gates set depending hot you want your bridge pickup, i suppose. Others would have a more nuanced idea - i merely named the most typical choices.

Re: Which SD sounds like this?

That tone totally reminds me of the newer Slash set. If you're looking at new pickups, I'd start there! Otherwise, the Pearly Gates set, as mentioned above.

Also, he plays in the middle position (both pickups), which helps with that rounded, but brighter-as-you-dig-in type tone.

Chadd is right, though...most pickups can get you close with the right amp settings and some tweaking of the volume knob on the guitar.

I haven't heard the Slash set, so can't comment there, but I would go with the PG as well.

Re: Which SD sounds like this?

Actually, I hear it closer to the APH-1 set or the Slash set. It sounds too 'buttery' for the PGs, to me.
