Which SD's for me?

I own a new(ish) Yamaha Pacifica for which I want new pickups. Alder body, Maple Neck, Rosewood fretboard, Hum-Sing-Sing.

I play multiple styles so I have a few conerns. I play alot of metal, not nu-metal crap but stuff more like Opeth :32: , Children of Bodom, Dark Tranquility, Nightwish. I play alot of darkish jazz, usually using the neck and mid pups, I dont want anything particularly bright but i need something with alot of pop and articulation, and I play a bit of blues. SRVish type stuff. I would also like the versatility to be able to go into Eric Johnson, Satch, that sort of stuff, but my foremost concern is the metal.

I really want a sound somewhere around what Nightwish has, with a touch of Opeth. if anyone knows anything about the equipment Nightwish uses that would be great. I know Opeth uses a SH-10 quite often, which is what I am thinking of getting in the Bridge. Actually i'm pretty dead set on an SH-10 in the bridge, but any suggestions would be great, i was also looking at the Duncan Distortion.

One last thing, musicians friend no longer sells SH-10's (!). Where would I be able to get one for a good price? also, I am planning a Warmoth Project, in which i also want a SH-10 in the bridge, and an SH-2 in the neck, however, since SD does not make SH-10s with a gold cover, who would be able to do it for me?

i own a pacifica myself and i have a JB in the bridge position. Its sounds good in the alder pacifica and offers a decent amount of flexibility.
i cant comment on other pickups in the pacifica.

I have already posted this exact question late last night, but got no answers, so i'm trying again.

First one piece of advice, be patient, it takes a while to get answers so if you don't get a response immediately don't sweat it, if your post falls back a page or two just bump it.

Unfortunately I'm not up on your bands except a snipit from Children of Bodom. However I do know Satch, Johnson, SRV, and what direction to go on the jazz end of things.

Satch uses a Fred in the bridge, and PAF Joe in the neck, so to get closer to that sound you might want to look into PAF style pups. A Pearly Gates would probably give you the extra mids for Satch tones.

Johnson is a vintage guitar kind of guy, so was SRV, for their tones I'd look at the SSL-1, or the APS-1. Those both have the regular magnet stagger. The SSL-1 will be brighter, with a more pronounced bass, whereas the APS-1 will have more mids with a smoother bass and treble. APS' are a tiny bit darker sounding, but still nice and chimey. They are also very OD/Dist. friendly, I love mine.

As far aas the Full Shred goes: It has 12 polepieces so you would have to order the pup from the Custom Shop if you wanted it with holes punched for polepieces. So $165-185. The Full Shred is a bright pup you might want to consider using/keeping a 250k pot with it. Same advice I give with the JB. It can also be very bright, most metal guys find it more to their liking than anything else.

All I know is that mikael in Opeth has 2 full shred bridges (i think bridge) in his PRS's, and Alexi's signature ESP guitar that I saw him play on stage has a EMG-HZ. That is what I know from those two bands.
