Which Stack Plus is closest to giving the Malmsteen neck tone?

Just wondering which of the Stack Plus Pickups would be closest to resembling the YJM Fury neck tone?

Re: Which Stack Plus is closest to giving the Malmsteen neck tone?

I would think any fatter-than-usual single coil should do the job, I guess if you rise a STK-S4n or STK-7n pretty close to strings you can make it sound closer to that, but I have not tried that since I already have the STK-S10n :) How about this one in the video? I was surprised to hear how cool this stacked single coil sounds in the neck of a 24 fret guitar. I guess its output kind of compensate the "shift" from clasical position (compared to 22 frets guitars).

I love these "what pickup is exactly like this pickup" threads.

I already have them. I don't like the YJM bridge all that much and have been running a Hot Stack Plus in the bridge which I like a lot better. But then the two YJM Fury pickups I'm running in the neck and middle don't match up cosmetically with the Hot Stack Plus. That's why I asked. I always prefer to get all three pickups matching if possible provided the sound satisfies my needs.

If you must know...

What exactly about the YJM pickups isn't a cosmetic match for the HS+?

I just found out that the YJM Furys are available in white. Didn't know that. I guess that is one solution although I prefer to stay away from white pickups.

If you like the CS+ your options are black or white. The YJM comes in both colors, as well as the snot green.

The YJM Fury pups will accept standard Fender covers as well so you have a lot of options.

Yes just get two Seymour Duncan standard single coil covers. You might have to buy a 3 or 6 pack, not sure how they're sold. They will be a little short, so the spring or tube will bend the ears slightly but that's what Yngwie does with a lot of his Furies on guitars that he wants to look stock, and its what he did with his Dimarzios for decades.

I've seen some taller pickup covers cheap on eBay, too. Maybe those would work.

Head to head shootout of the HS3 and Furry set.
