Man, they are both darn nice, but as much as I love blonde Tele's I think the burst beats it just a hair. :friday:

I know that it ain't exactly 50s-60s period correct but that's what I like the best so there you have it

Which one is right and left ? in my broswer the sunburst custom is on top and the butterscotch blonde is below it lol


I've seen burst with maple necks and it doesnt look bad but I think they really need the darker neck to really make the sunburst effect "pop" right. If the neck is maple then it takes away from the contrast effect of the burst

A rosewood neck on a blonde would be sort of intresting though ? Dont see that combo very often

It's a matter of your screen's resolution. If it's wide enough they will appear next to each other, if not then one bellow the other.

In any case, the burst body with the all-maple neck, not so for aesthetics reasons but rather because I tonally prefer alder and especially so Ash bodies to have maple fretboards. You can stain the maple an ebony black or sth if you'd like!

i have a thing for sunburst Custom Tele's with the binding... i'm not sure if that one has binding or if it's just the worn edges but the sunburst one has my pick even if i prefer maple boards on a tele

I do like them both, but I feel the same. The bound Custom Tele bodies just look fab.

I´d say the blonde one. Maybe ´cos I have a sunburst one and want a blonde one badly... Anyone got some spare? :help: :lmao: But yeah, the blonde one rocks out of those two.

why it's too bad the good ones are so expensive... i'm looking at Warmoth but we'll see what i end up with... I do want a double bound tele oneday... i may bite the bullet and buy a Fender USA 1962 Vintage Reissue but i just don't like Rosewood boards on teles that much myself... but i could live with it if it's a great axe....

Sunburst Custom.

When I was a kid, there was a sunburst Custom reissue at the local store. I really wanted that guitar.

Besides, it's on the cover of one of the greatest rock records of all time:

you had me cranking In The Dark today because of this post...

The top one - 3-tone sunburst and rosewood is just plain hawt. I like the blond, but if you're planning on relicing it, the top one wears the years a lot better IMO.

It's all about that beat up burst man. Take the neck from the blackguard and pop it on the burst tele and you have my dream guitar (already sitting in front of my favorite amp)!
