dd is da bomb! the dd will make ur les paul be a sweet metal axe. well it depends what kind of style of music u play.

Re: which would go best with a 59 in a lp

if u play metal go for the dd. it is very distorted perfect for metal. i think the dd is a better metal pickups than the jb.

o ya, wat about if it was a dd trembucker. I live in indonesia and i own a dd trem should i put it back in with my 59?

Re: which would go best with a 59 in a lp

It was my first aftermarket pup so i didnt no any difference in tone, but now i no alot more so maybe it will bless my ears with beautiful distortion..............

im sorry i said that

Go for the DD. In my opinion, the Custom is my favorite but, the DD is a tad better at metal.

The DD gets my vote. It goes nicely with the 59n.

You're asking what bridge pickup would compliment a 59N neck pickup in a Les Paul? Totally depends on the player. The JB would be great...as would a Distortion which is the same pickup as a JB only with a ceramic magnet. Personally, I like a 59B as the bridge pickup too. There is no best...but the Custom is very popular too.

I would not use a Custom Custom as it is the same pickup as a Custom but with a alnico 2 magnet and since the 59N is an alnico 5 pickup with alot of bass and treble, the Custom Custom might seem to lack bass and highs. It doesn't really...but compared to the fat, bright, bassy tone of a 59N, it might seem to. Lew

I voted for the Custom - it sounds great in a Les Paul for hard rock and metal.

I'd swap the '59n for an A2Pn though - the '59n has a little too much bottom end for me in a Les Paul.
