White? Really?

Re: White? Really?

Ewwww, Guitar Denter. Now I gotta burn my computer

Seriously, a White SG is a thing of beauty, but not with that stupid giant pickguard. I honestly cannot fathom why they use that instead of the smaller one. It's not like a Strat where it's routed for a trench underneath.

Re: White? Really?

What really bothers me is the clash between the white finish and the cream binding. It's not so apparent in this picture though. I just can't stand cream binding.

If this were black with white binding and the small pickguard, I'd be all over it.

How hard is it to offer multiple finishes? I hate when some models only come in one finish. That's some crap right there.

Re: White? Really?

I freaking love white finishes on SGs. I have never seen a standard in white up here, but if I did, I would own one.

Re: White? Really?

White SG's are killer - especially once they age to a nice cream.

Sure it is - they route a trench between the two pickups for easy peasy wiring.

You're kidding. They couldn't have routed it toward the treble side so the batwing covers it? Or better still, learn how to drill a proper hole to the control cavity?

Fail.

Re: White? Really?

I love white SG's.

+1. SG's look great in all the basic colors: red, black, natural, and yes, white. The design is so sleek & sexy, it looks good in just about anything. I think one of the world's most beautiful guitars is a bright white SG Custom with a maestro vibrato.

I've got a white Epi Custom SG, Maestro vibrato, gold hardware (extremely sexy) I'm willing to sell.:cool2:

Re: White? Really?

I like it alot..........but hate that style of SG pickguard unless it's black on black.

Re: White? Really?

Nope. That SG is perfect the way it is. I love those pickguards. It reminds me of my 1st Gibson SG (faded SG). Too bad I had to sell it for rent.....:crying:

Re: White? Really?

White with the half pickguard is my favorite SG color. There was a lead player in a band from my youth that had one. Sweet guitar.

Re: White? Really?

White SG's look killer to me. Especially when they start to age a bit and get that creamy vintage white color:naughty: I do agree that the cream binding does not go very well with the Alpine White color. They should have used white biding like on the LP Customs.

Re: White? Really?

I like the white, but not with that big pickguard.

Actually I always prefer the 61RI-style pickguard. And my favorite SG ever was a light color, too. It was a Custom Shop job, apparently. It was White Limba, like the korina V's and Explorers, but otherwise a pretty normal 61RI SG.

It belonged to someone I jammed with a bit. He let me play it. It was awesome. And I've never played a lighter guitar.

I want one like that.

I love those big Pickguards too, the little ones make it look "naked" or something, and white looks great IMO!
I would take out the PUP covers...

Re: White? Really?

I like the white. I think, like another poster stated, the white background was an extremely poor choice in photographing this guitar.
