I like whichever one played the solo on "Still of the Night".

I don't know much about Aldrich other than I don't find his playing (or his signature pickups) particularly interesting.

Sykes on the other hand...I always thought Scott Gorham was pretty awesome in Thin Lizzy, but when Sykes showed up with that black beauty, I thought "that's pretty f'in wicked."

Sykes for President.

What do you mean I'm 3 years late?

I voted for Sykes. I did think it was foolish of Coverdale to let go of Sykes. Then I read this from wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitesnake_1987 (the paragraph of Coverdale's illness). If that is true, then I can totally understand why Coverdale fired Sykes from the band.

I've gotta go with Sykes. I like Doug's playing, but something about John's bends and that high gain Les Paul, well, i rest my case..

Re: Who do you like better? Sykes or Aldrich?

I like Sykes better as a player but my favorite Whitesnake album is actually Slip of the Tongue with Steve Vai. Bonus points for those Tawny Kitaen videos that promoted the disk.

How could Whitesnake record an album without David Coverdale? That's unpossible. It'd be like WASP without Blackie Lawless or Burzum without Varg lmao.
