Who else makes something along the lines of this?

I am window shopping what guitar would be my next buy.
My dream buy would be:
-red or a subtle sunburst
-double cut
-Volume/Volume/Tone and 5/3 way
-mahogany body
-24.75-25" scale
-hardtail preferred
-2 Humbuckers

This would be used as a general guitar, like for blues, Classic rock, metal, and occasionally pop.

So far I have found (outside of custom shops:

Hamer Studio:
Color options limited, as they are no longer made. Red was made, but sunburst is much easier to find.

PRS DGT:
A little uncommon in stores, as it isn't their most popular model. Comes in red and sunburst. Bit pricy

PRS Custom 22 S2:
Fairly common in stores and not to unreasonably priced. Lacks individual volumes though.

Schecter S-1:
Cheaper import option
Could buy new or used
Comes easily in transparent red

G&L Ascari Tribute:
Cheaper import option
Could buy new or used
Comes in transparent red

Gibson SG variants:
Good standard guitars. Not sure how they stack up though.

What else am I missing?

I would look for a used Hamer but I am partial to the brand. There are Trans Red ones out there. Usually equipped with SD 59N and JB's in the bridge slot but some have 59Bs in them.

I would look for a used Hamer but I am partial to the brand. There are Trans Red ones out there. Usually equipped with SD 59N and JB's in the bridge slot but some have 59Bs in them.

I like the brand too, shame it had to end.

A nice red Hamer Studio custom with Duncan PGn and a custom in the bridge sounds awesome though.

A schecter S-1 is sounding about right as alternative right now. Scheters are the nicer end of imports I hear.

If you can live with only master volume and master tone, I highly recommend the Schecter C-1 Classic or the Schecter C-1 Custom. I owned the Classic for a few years and have owned much more expensive guitars since, but I kick myself for selling it everytime I see another Classic. Specwise, I think the Custom would be closer to your marks, it only lacks the separate volumes.

Reverend Sensei HB - don't think it has 2 volumes, but it has the bass contour which gives a LOT of flexibility. At that price point there are few better instruments.

What's the going price on a basic studio? I'm noticing the price varies a lot on reverb.

That actually sounds doable...might just save some money to sit on and pop when the right hamer at a decent price comes up

i have a usa made washburn wms which is basically just what you are looking for other than it only has two controls. that said, go find a used hamer usa studio. they are fantastic guitars. i have three different usa hamers and love them all.
