Please post up a great looking "Explorer" you have that has some Duncans in it. No Duncans? I guess that's cool too. :cool2: :headbang:

Cool P90 Z

Thanks Mincer but I will try to just put this one here. For now. :D:laugh:

My Dean P90 Z was an idea I had after seeing this Hamer built through BCR Music in Lemoyne, Pennsylvania.

I asked Dean president Elliott Rubinson at a Dean Open House in early 2005 if he would make a custom run of this and he asked can I sell 12? Soon we had sold 16 and I got the prototype to the run of guitars.

Before the Zs left Dean.

I love all Gene’s pics

Greg @ BCR is one of the best repair techs I have ever seen. Seriously talented

On behalf of Kais I’m going to post his guitar. I still love it and want to do a clone of it. I believe it was CC/PGn.

This is Roland, my '96 Explorer loaded with a Custom / Jazz set.

Hopefully in the next few weeks I'll be swapping to a black guard and zebra pups (same models). I'll also be sure to get at least one less crappy pic after the transformation.

I can only imagine how that sounds. Middle position should sound huge under gain.

Cool is not even the word. Love the cream signature Chicken knobs!

Re: Who Has A Cool "Explorer" W/ Duncans

Alas, my Explorer has the factory hot ceramics. I’m enjoying them very much, but if that ever changes, you know where I’ll be going for options.

Re: Who Has A Cool "Explorer" W/ Duncans

I don't have a pic of it at the moment, but I'll bet mine's a little different than everyone else's.

I've got an Epi Explorer GT with a '59 neck and a 'lil 59 for Tele bridge.

Yeah, it's cheap but it fit's my hand and my body perfectly and it plays like buttah.

107.jpg120.jpgSold this one about 4 years ago to get a SG Standard. It had a Jazz bridge in the neck and a SD in the bridge and they were fantastic in this guitar. This guitar had a sound that demanded that I play Saturday Nite Special and Gimme Three Steps out the Door..... And this nameless guitar started out with a great silver finish. I hated the color, but it was an awesome playing instrument right off the rack.

That took a bit longer than I'd hoped, but the before/after is kinda cool.

Still a Custom / Jazz set, and wired neck vol, bridge vol, neck tone with a push-pull on the tone to split both pickups. The bridge splits to the typical slug coil, but the neck splits to the screw coil so that hum is canceled in the middle position. I don't really care for either pickup split on its own, but the middle is a cool clean tone.

The Jazz started its life as an Alnico II Pro, but I never really got along with it. I also happened to have a Custom 5 that I never liked, so I swapped magnets between those two over the weekend. A Jazz has been great in this guitar for 15 years now, and my Charvel Model 4 sounds amazing with my new Custom Custom.

This one's had a dozen different pups in it, but I finally settled on Duncan Designed that look like Invaders but sound like the Distortion.
This 1 was built on a Wednesday. One of my favorites.
It's the goth edition, and I rewired the toggle to place it where I want it. Single volume.
