I just got a new SG that was plekked. Not any better than I usually do myself. I admit that the frets were crowned nicely, but I had to file and finish the fret ends (they were a tiny bit long and very sharp...like tiny knives cutting my hand as I slid up and down the neck).
The nut was another story completely. I totally redid the factory plekked nut. Height was good, but there was no relief on the backside and there was a lot of string binding going on. It's much better after I worked on it, but I think I'll end up replacing it with bone afterall (it's getting so I just don't like to play anything but bone nuts anymore).
