Who Has The Best Artist Signature Strat?

Re: Who Has The Best Artist Signature Strat?

there a things i love about lots of signature strats but dont know if ive loved everything about one enough to pay the silly money they go for. its much easier to buy a great strat and modify it till youre perfectly happy with it. or hell, build one from scratch.

Re: Who Has The Best Artist Signature Strat?

I dig Fender Strats, but not the artist models so much. The only artist model "Strat" I'd be interested in is the '63 Michael Landau. A Suhr Scott Henderson...yes...I'd go for that.
I'm also into building my own...comes out exactly the way I like.

Robbie Robertson! Also probably the most expensive signature :D

I don't like how the middle pickup is in the way of my picking too.

I'm not a Strat guy, but I always thought the Clapton with Noisless, TBX and boost was a cool Strat

Re: Who Has The Best Artist Signature Strat?

i like the clapton electronics but dont love the V neck, or tbx, or noiseless pups :D a guy i play with all the time has a first year clapton strat and its basically all he plays. he makes it sound great, those old lace pups seem to sound better than anything else they put in them stock but i still prefer my cs+ neck & middle, vintage hot stack+ bridge with a normal tone control better. even with the mid boost off there is a ton of signal from the preamp boost. the mid boost just makes it super fat, kinda wish the boost was around 700hz rather than 500hz though

I tend to like the really different ones (like the original Clapton, as there was nothing like it at the time) than the ones that are just a combination of features from different eras with an artist's name on them. I liked the original Yngwie one too, but haven't played a more recent model.
