Hey now wait a minute... I don't claim to be a total expert on these guitars but I was under the understanding that the original run of 5 was that trans blue finish with the 6-bolt neck.

If you can get the serial number I can find out the exact date of manufacturing for you.

I could have been mistaken. It's a 5-bolt contoured heel as well.

Not an issue to me if it isn't one of the first 50, tho... Trade value against my SG factors to within a conservative figure within the range these seem to sell for used.

Yeah, just to be clear...it not only not from the first limited run of 50 but it's not from the 2nd, 3rd, 4th or even 5th run!

That colour and the contoured 5 bolt neck didn;t happen until much later it the Moorse production...

EBMM started doignthe Moorse model in 1986 I think...that guitar is mUCH newer than that.

My point is this...ther eis nothing special or valueable about that Moorse...no way in hell I'd unload a nice SG Jr for it, thats just me.

That color is a limited edition orange/gold that they only did for one season and very recently... I saw Steve Morse playing one at a Guitar Center clinic in May of last year.

I assumed it was rather new...

I mean the colour might be a little hard to come by but that is no where near as rare or valueable as an early Moorse would be and not even close to one of the first hand numbered 50.

Yeah - I think I misrepresented it to you guys by mistake. When the seller said "first run" it's much more likely he was really just meaning "one of the original Morse guitars and not the Y2D."

As I said, the it's value in the trade offer IS IN KEEPING with market value for a regular old used Morse.

That said, the jury is still somewhat out on this one. Someone coming along who wants to buy my Jr. outright would get dibs.

I do indeed love my Morse. I though, unlike a lot of other players, like "Swiss Army" guitars. You should take this discussion over to the EBMM forum. Even though they are biased toward EBMM stuff, they're not as arrogant as some of the other forums. You will get the exact info, on that guitar, that you need - and more. Both B2D and I are regulars there; but I am an EBMM neophyte compared to some on there. Heck, Sterling Ball might even answer some of your questions. Give it a try. They're nice guys over there.

And, IMHO, the Silo, Silo Sp, and Albert Lee are absolute Strat killers....

As for swiss army guitars.... I kinda want a swiss army guitar. I feel like I ought to own at least one "super versatile" instrument, so that's the appeal of the Morse for me. I've got/owned lots of one-trick ponies and like that style, but variety is good.

Good luck with going to the forum there and getting a non biased opinion
butch with all due respect man they do make great instruments but their attitude sucks

Try and test it if you don't believe me and ask a question about another brand or something compared to ebmm or something totally inocent as that and you'll get a reaming
in fact anything short of ebmm is god over there won't cut it for long

You want more of a swiss army guitar get the Luke model
Lukather is a session man so he needs a Swiss army guitar more than you

I dig the Luke much more

but you will need to play a bunch cause ebmm is a bit over the board in good sounding axes
not as much as fender but not consistent like suhr
