Who likes Pink Floyd?

Re: Who likes Pink Floyd?

So I recently had the starter in my car replaced & ever since then my CD player won't eject the CD. I wish it wasn't "Atom Heart Mother" stuck in there... it's a cool enough CD, but not my favorite!

Radio, radio, radio until I can afford to replace the stereo. Took the car back to Sears as soon as I noticed the stereo problem & they said, "Oh it couldn't have been anything we did... the CD player probably just crapped out on you. Take it to CarToys & see what they can do."

Grrrrrrr.... :poed:

It's never their fault, eh? Tell them you bought the CD from them and it must've run out of batteries. That should get you some interesting looks. Jerks.

Re: Who likes Pink Floyd?

I saw Floyd in 94 at Giants Stadium. I was right next to the stage, but off to the side. I couldn't see the stage show (I could see the performers though) but those FREAKING PIGS were SOOOOO evil, lol. Big giant pigs that rocked up and down with glowing red eyes, mouths wide open like they were screaming and huge tusks.

One of the coolest memories of Floyd I have was when I was sixteen. My buddy came over with his girlfriend and one of her friends and we all went into my room, I closed the shade, shut the lights, put on a black light and cranked the Wish You Were Here album. Somehow all four of us fit on my single bed and it was really cool. Even without drugs, just listening to Floyd like that was so trippy. I'd occasionally close me eyes and really let the music engulf me. It was like being in a dream state. The girl who came over was really cool too and we had a lot of fun together. There is NOTHING like a chick who digs Pink Floyd. :smokin:

Man, that does sound like a cool memory! I know what you mean about there being NOTHING like a chick who digs Pink Floyd. I remember a female friend of mine from my early twenties who eventually became a girlfriend (short-lived relationship after that...boohoo). She was the coolest, chillest chick...Too bad we killed our friendship by trying out the dating thing. I think she was too young and I was too stupid!

I met another cool gal who dug Floyd and all trippy music my freshman year of college in Boulder--she was an incredible violinist who I spent many hours hanging out with listening to cool music like Floyd. She ended up transferring to Northwestern after the first semester (which was a major disappointment). What I wouldn't give to turn back the clock and gain some courage! :smokin:

One of these days... still have Pink Floyd though! LOL!

Re: Who likes Pink Floyd?

Man, i never met a girl in my age who likes Floyd.... :( ^^

Edit: Maybe i'm too young.. ;)

Wait until college... that seems like the time that chicks get into the whole trippy music thing. :naughty:

Just an observation, not a statement of fact or anything. :smack:

Re: Who likes Pink Floyd?

I'm a big Floyd lover. I attempted to record Comfortably Numb this year ... difficult to say the least. Click on my soundclick link below and listen to my attempt. Be kind ...

I thought the "attempt" was pretty cool! & You're right--it's hard to cover Pink Floyd effectively! :smokin:

I still haven't attempted a Floyd tune--soon... very soon... It's just about "Time" ...

My band is going to be covering it soon!

Re: Who likes Pink Floyd?

I briefly mentioned my love of Pink Floyd to a new co-worker & the next day, he brought "Roger Waters - in the flesh live" DVD for me to borrow! I can't wait until I have some time on Saturday to check it out... I was totally surprised... cool stuff! :arms:

Re: Who likes Pink Floyd?

I have that Roger Waters DVD. It is priceless. The guitaristss are awesome ... two of them play with Clapton and one toured with Pink Floyd. It is tight. I spotted it walking through a Best Buy while they were playing it on a big screen sound system. This is a "classic DVD"! Let me know if I'm right.

Re: Who likes Pink Floyd?

Liking pink floyd, is like liking sex. It has its ups, and downs, but allround, its something you look forward too

Re: Who likes Pink Floyd?

I love Pink Floyd...
Been to a Roger Waters concert two month ago... I do have to admit- his songs since are pretty lame... Gilmour was the real genious of the group.

Re: Who likes Pink Floyd?

Maybe so ... but the DVD is classic Pink Floyd (mostly). It's got some really good stuff on it. A few weeks ago I saw some clips from a David Gilmour concert. It was awesome, as well. I'd still recommend the Roger Waters DVD ... those guitarists did an awesome job. It's one of the best DVDs in my collection.
