Hmm I've had only 2 floyd rose guitars, but thats enough for me to know I don't like floating bridges at all, just not stable enough for me...
I use the Vintage Tremelo on one of my strats, the other one is just tightened down... I don't need a Floyd I guess, and don't like 'em anyway, so that's good.

I love using them, totally cool. I hate stringing them so much that none of my floyd'd guitars have strings on them at the moment.

My thoughts EXACTLY. I don't currently own a guitar with a floyd, although, I have lots of fun messing with them at guitar shops. I owned a floyd equipped guitar for 2 months and sold it due to the fact that it was a pain in the a$$ to restring...... :yell: :evil:

floyds are cool(especiay the speedloader on my NJ Beast/it's time saving and everything is just easier) but i prefer original kahler flatmounts.

they are a no go for me. I don't like the sound ( it is too metalic and not woody enough) I never even got to the stringing part, after playing a few and not liking the sound i knew it was not for me, but then again, i don't like the sound of many vibratos. even my strats are blocked. this is all one of the reasons i am a tele man

Defiantley very cool, but such a pain to restring/string breaks, overall though id say its probably worth it, but i dont think ill ever own more than one floyd guitar, too much hassle.

I would like a Floyd guitar one day, non-floating down only is probably how id go to eliminate alot of hassle. Ive been thinking of a floyd equipped strat for a while. Ill keep dreaming

I love OFR's!!! Double locking trems are a great tool but for me it HAS to be an OFR or an Ibanez Edge. Nothing else really delivers the goods in the same way. They require a bit of a learning curve but i got around that years ago. I have mine set up perfectly and it holds tune exceptionally well.

i love the floyd rose on my bc rich. i guess ive grown to the feel of it.
plus i can pull off the harmonic screams that dimebag darrell does.

my advice for all of you who hate restringing it: get a speedloader! and for al others: someday you will get used to restringig the foyds.

No doubt about it. Getting used to my floating bridge was a biotch at first, going from LP copies to my Joe Satriani. But man, it is worth it. Stays in tune, incredible action, and it's just so smooth playing.
