who make the best speakers,

Re: who make the best speakers,

People with clear, concise vocal delivery, who don't speak too quickly or too slowly, who have mellifluous tones and who make their points succinctly but with subtle elements of fun and humour to keep it from being too 'dry'. For anything visual (i.e. anything other than radio or voiceovers), good posture and a relaxed, kindly nature is important.

People who can do that make the best speakers.

will there be a parallel thread about who makes the best listeners ?

Re: who make the best speakers,

Really no such thing as "best" in almost any guitar equipment related questions. What sounds best for you could be something someone else finds offensively awful. It is all in your ear as to what is best. There are a ton of well made speakers on the market , do some research and read the reviews. Maybe go to Guitar Center and play some cabs that have the type of speakers you are interested in buying.

Re: who make the best speakers,

I vote Scumbacks for some of the best speakers going around today, the closest thing I've ever got to getting that "sound in my head" was after I got some Scumbacks. Jim is a great guy to deal with too.

They are amazing depending on what you want out of them. I use the Legends 12 inch and they are solid speakers. But I'm always looking for the next best thing.
I gotta agree with the comments made above, it really comes down to what you are looking for. Where you are at now and where you want to be. They are another tool to create the sound thats in your head.
Where are you at with your tone now? Did you just blow out yours and need replacements? Are you looking to improve or change your tone? Check out WGS for some different clips on how different speakers sound.

Re: who make the best speakers,

My favorites, for my Mesa amps--the EVM is at the top of the list. I have these in my Mark III and Mark IV combos, and in a C-90/EVM Half-Back 412, and an all EVM 412 Half-back. They weigh a ton, handle 200 watts so no real breakup, and they put out exactly what you put into them, without sounding sterile.

Next would be the Celestion Vintage 30. Have these in my Maverick 212, DC-3, and two Mesa cabs, a 212 Horizontal Recto and a 112 Closed Back Wide-Body. Third would be the Mesa/Celestion C-90, in my Mark V Combo. I also have one paired with the Mesa/Eminence MS-12 in a 212 Half-Back cab. This is a good match--the Celestion has the bite and snap; the MS-12 has a smooth midrange like the old JBL D-120s.

A lot of my old Fenders used Jensens, and the Marshall combo I had used a Celestion 85, and I've got one Mesa combo with a Celestion 100.

But all in all, the EVM is "THE BEST."

Re: who make the best speakers,

I was impressed enough by weber that they will continue to get my business
eminence has been good to me
celestion has too,
pick the flavor that suits you and that's the "best"

Re: who make the best speakers,

Whatever sounds good to you is the best speaker.

Myself, I used to be all about Eminence, now I like Celestions better. So it really just boils down to preference.

Whatever floats your boat.

hi guys,
thanks for the above posts, you have given me some speaker makes to focus on,

all the best, bluesfloyd.

Re: who make the best speakers,

All speakers are beautiful. I currently have loaded in various amps and cabs - eminence, Celestion, EV, JBL and Weber. He send are great too. I've heard great things about Warehouse and Tone Tubby. It's all about what you want them to do.
