BennyD said:I don't want a Fender because I owned one of the newer American Deluxe strats and it was a peice of ****. The tone on it sucked, and it always went out of tune. Hardly worth the 1100 dollars I payed for it. I could get a Mexican Fender strat and get the exact same quality and pride as the American strats.
Hellion said:I understand about the American Deluxe. It's appalling to me that a company would charge what they do for a product but not really care about how they're made. But I believe that what MikeS and myself are saying is that the Mexican Strats seem to be made quite well (mine plays very nicely, sounds like a Strat and doesn't go out of tune), and you can pick them up for about a 1/3 of what you paid for the American Deluxe. Good luck with your search.

That thing was beautiful transparent red and played absolutely perfectly! BUT, it wasn't worth a divorce.
