who plans on buying the new active Dave Mustang pickup here?

Re: who plans on buying the new active Dave Mustang pickup here?

A few people have committed to it in the thread on those pickups, and I am DEFINETLY one of those people.

I've got the guitar set aside for 'em already, and plan on having all the necissary routing done to the body before the pickups even get here.

cool--
I always thought Duncan shoul ATTACK the EMG market and try to develop the Live Wires further!

Re: who plans on buying the new active Dave Mustang pickup here?

If I hadn't just gotten an EMG 81 I probably would've picked up that set.

Re: who plans on buying the new active Dave Mustang pickup here?

If I could buy the bridge only, and in chrome with no sig then I would. But I don't need the neck, don't need black, and don't care for Mustaine's name on the cover. I hope it does well though, overall it seems like a cool product.

Re: who plans on buying the new active Dave Mustang pickup here?

If they sell them individually, I'll check out the bridge model. I really dig the black, and don't mind the signature. Hell, I don't care that the headstock says "Kramer", "Fender", etc.... so why should I mind if the pickup says "Dave Mustaine"? :)

Re: who plans on buying the new active Dave Mustang pickup here?

i'm going to give them a try. but like the others i wish i could get just a bridge model for my single hum guitars.

I definitely want to check them out even though I've never cared for active setups in the past.

I know at least 2 people who are ready to purchase the set as soon as it's available.

I'd love a pair!! I don't get these people who don't like the signature on it, I guess it's because the look of my gear doesn't mean **** to me aslong as it sounds good.

Once my amp is sorted out, I will start to think about getting the new Mustaine actives. I was thinking of buying a jb and i still might. I'll wait and see what kind of feedback people give after they try the new pickups out.

Who is Dave Mustang? :) Some new rockabilly cat?

Re: who plans on buying the new active Dave Mustang pickup here?

i would certainly buy the bridge position one if it was available separately, and if it didn't have the signature, and it was available in plain white or black colour like the emgs.......

Yes. As an active EMG user, I guess I'll need to try them. If I can get the power of an active pup with the cool midrange spike of the JB, then I found myself a new favorite pup. I'll try to get a set at NAMM if I possibly can.:usa1: :usa1: :usa1:

You Lucky.... I wanna get these pups as soon as possible, waiting sucks... Oh well, It'll give me time to get the guitar all ready to go.

So, the million dollar question is, when are they available to dealers? At NAMM?

I gues I'll find out next week ...

I'm already imagining a Warmoth V with those babies in it.

Re: who plans on buying the new active Dave Mustang pickup here?

So, just to recap, are XSSIVE and myself the only people kool enough to go ahead and order these without playing through them?

You 6-string guys are lucky, the only 7 string guitars to come stock with good pickups are the old Ibanez guitars with Dimarzio blazes and Schecter Blackjacks which have JBs, so it's basically the same as the cheap ones.

Try out pickups, BAH! stores don't even sell 7 string pickups.
