Who was asking about GFS P90s?

I just put a GFS dogear P90 in my Epi LP Jr. Unf#$%in' real! It's a dynamite pickup. It makes the little Epi howl!

I bought the neck version because I wanted a lower output vintage tone. The pickup measured out at 8.2k. I got the tone I was looking for in spades. Even with the cheap plywood body, this thing sounds like a LP Jr should, snarl, bite, great harmonics and openness.

I have to finish setting up the guitar, but I'll post some pics and clips soon.

Bottom line, well worth it.

That was me.

I have a new guitar that has what I believe to be Mighty Mite P90s. They are very raw and powerful and produce a great high energy tone, but are also very microphonic and transmit any tap on the pickguard, cover and change of the pickup selector switch.

I'm wondering if the GFS will improve on the stock pups or not, but they're on their way, so I'll give em a try.

I've used 4 other GFS pickup sets and have been very happy with each

I did the tap test on my Epi after I installed the P90. No undue noise comes through, very nice pickup.

Then if the GFS P90 tone is at least as good as my stocks, the $50 investment will be well worth it.

Realistically, I'm not going to tap my pups while I'm playing, but I cannot stand hearing the *ka-lunk* sound of the pickup selector switch thru my amp.

Thanks for helping to lift my buyers remorse

Update, here's a quick clip I did of the new P90. It's rough, nothing fancy. I still need a spacer to raise the pickup a bit, it's almost 1/4" from the strings right now. Still sounds pretty good. It'll get a little more beefy, full sound when I raise it up.

This clip is an edited down version of a longer wank, I kept a few of the representative sounds to avoid major boredom :D No other editing was done, it's just guitar -> Holy Grail -> Macht 6
