I wanted to know if anyone knows which player was responsible for using a JB for the 80's rock tone?

i was refering to players that used the JB like lynch, jerry cantrell, the guy in ratt,
dave mustaine, etc all the guys that get a pretty heavy tone with massive crunch and guts:bowdown:

KK used stock on his flying V and duncan singles on his white strat
and glen used a dimarzio super Distortion and paf in the neck on his SG and fender strat for years
they did not have JB's till the hamer guitars came into the picture years later?
Super D's all the way. Paul Stanley didn't start using the JB until the 80's. Ace is/was all Super D's.Davey said:kiss? or did they use SuperD's and DuncanD's all the time?

Back in the 70's he very well may have used the Super2's. I don't know for sure about that era. I do know in the 80's he went to JB's, possibly around the time Vinny came in to the picture.JeffB said:I think I read somewhere where Paul used Super2's BTW to contrast with Aces Paula/SuperD "beef". Considering his tone comparitively, I'd concur. Thinner, with lots more upper mids and treble.
