Whoa, new DiMarzio site is waaay cool!

I think it's actually a lot better than the Seymour Duncan page. It's even more informative than it used to be, looks better, is easier to view, and above all, just really cool! :) I like the new tone charts they have and how you can check out wiring diagrams, clips, colors, and specs for each pickup. If only they had a forum!

Paul Gilbert is on the cables page!!! Who is that foxy lady on the straps page?

Re: Whoa, new DiMarzio site is waaay cool!

Who's the buttpirate on the main page?

That page would only be good for a "web map" for their page if you ask me. Looks like theyjust listed it all like a web map and didnt' bother much more.

To each his own. Biu if you love dimarzio so much you should start a board for them. The software is less than 200 bucks. You could do it for them, and I'msure they'd be appreciative.

If you went to the Les Paul Forum and advertised how great the new Fender Discussion Page was, you'd get run out of town. Lucikly we're more civilized here.

We have a great page here, but have you guys noticed how many "members" lately have come here in order to prop up other companies pickups? Like they're trying to lure us away from the best. Makesme laugh. Go away little trolls! :)

Remember, the lead dog has the best view and all those other pup companies are staring right at Seymours Starfish. :)

Isn't that Mr. DiMarzio himself? He's gotta be, cause wherever the name DiMarzio is, he's right there! :laugh2: Buttpirate is correct.

Re: Whoa, new DiMarzio site is waaay cool!

mehhhh im hooked on duncans PERIOD.... i am very stubborn about many things and using duncans is one of them.... :)

Re: Whoa, new DiMarzio site is waaay cool!

OH HAHHAH why is that guy half naked??!?!? his eyes are saying to you..."im a butt pirate"

Re: Whoa, new DiMarzio site is waaay cool!

Ok, I'll put my web designer hat on here.

It's a nice site. I like how all the pickups are navigable from the homepage, and the information is helpful. The photography is great, too, though someone needs to tell Steve Vai to fire his stylist. For a flash site, the text is readable, and the minimal page load for the details of the pickups makes it easy to go back to the main menu quickly.

Credit where it's due, Dimarzio have raised the bar when it comes to making a pickup site. Of course, this doesn't make their pickups any better, just as Lindy Fralin's very bare-bones site doesn't make his pickups any worse. But kudos to Dimarzio for making a lot of information very accessible in a stylish manner.

Re: Whoa, new DiMarzio site is waaay cool!

guys, be gentle

im sure hes a nice man

its just unfortunate that his product is inferior, its not really his fault, he tried, and got beat, by Seymour. :)

Re: Whoa, new DiMarzio site is waaay cool!

Some of you guys are weird.

I prefer, for the most part, Seymour Duncans. But I won't pretend for a minute that his products are intrinsically better than some Lindy Fralin or dimarzio products. It's all about personal taste in the end. I'm sure if any of us had the undivided attention of Larry, Lindy or Seymour, each would be able to make us something mind-blowing.

I tip my hat to Evan and the mods for not engendering negativity toward other manufacturers.

Re: Whoa, new DiMarzio site is waaay cool!

I think they should have categorized more.

Also they need to change dns settings so the site doesn't just forward to their server ip.

Re: Whoa, new DiMarzio site is waaay cool!

While I like Seymour Duncan pickups better, I think Dimarzio still puts out pretty good stuff. Each fills a certain void. I basically agree with Hot Grits. :)

With that said, the new Dimarzio layout really does kick. I like how all the pups are right their in an open, easy to view format. When you pull up an individual pup, all the specs and info you could possibly want is listed (including audio streams). The installation links are great as well. I guess just the overall accessibility is very nice.

No offense to SD, but I feel that the Dimarzio layout does have an advantage over SD. With that said, I think tonally SD pups are more desirable ;)

Man, thanks for the laugh Scott!!!! :laugh2: I laughed for about five minutes straight. :laugh2:

Re: Whoa, new DiMarzio site is waaay cool!

That "Butt Pirate" and "Male Stripper" is non other than Mr. Steve Vai...and I have nothing but respect for the man and his playing, even though he seems a bit on the fruity side...

Re: Whoa, new DiMarzio site is waaay cool!

i got to admit.... i love their cliplock straps

Re: Whoa, new DiMarzio site is waaay cool!

Well li'll give u that he is a good guitarist and nottin wrong with being a little flambouyant haha too abd he endorses dimarzio and duncan lol

Re: Whoa, new DiMarzio site is waaay cool!

Can someone please tell Steve Vai to put on a shirt and some sunglasses?
His ugly body and eyes are a big turn off.

The best website in the world won´t make Dimarzio an honest company without egregious business practices. The last place I´d surf by of my own free will would be Dimarzio.

I don´t care how good the pickups or descriptions or players are. Either play fair or get the **** out of my world. Dimarzio chose the latter ;)

I can´t remember Vai ever endorsing SD pickups, nor can I find any Info on the SD site to support that. Where did you get this info??

Their site is good. I think the flash graphics are a bit slow when you go back to the main page. That is probably an easy fix, ad I suspect that they will change it.
Will the wiring diagrams that Dimarzio has also work for SD pickups? Given the same sort of pickup configurations, i.e. 4 wires , 2 wires pickups and similar switches?

Steve Vai has got to go. Don't Ask, Don't Tell just get 'im off of the front page. I can't even go to that site at work.

A band mate has a Les Paul with PAF PRO in it. It sounds good but then again so does my Hot Rails, Vintage Rails , Cool rails set up.
