Whole Lotta Humbucker vs. PAF 36th Anniversary in the bridge

I've got this PRS SE which currently has a '59 in the bridge. I really like the tight Alnico 5 feel, especially under tons of gain. I wouldn't mind a bit more power, and a bit more midrange push and smoother highs. I don't want to lose the beefy lows of the '59, though.

So which should I go for? Who has experience with the DiMarzio and the Duncan? Which is beefier in the lows and mids, the DiMarzio 36th Bridge or the WLH-B? Which is smoother? Which is higher output? Which takes gain better?

Thanks.

For more power but similar tone, look no further than the 59/Custom Hybrid. they are more open sounding than the EQ chart would lead you to believe.

I tried the WLH bridge and a lot of dimarzios. I haven't tried the 36th bridge but I found the neck version is great with a paf pro in the bridge.

I was surprised how bright the upper mids were on the WLH. It sounds very rock n roll, just like the promo video with all the harmonics. The PAf PRO and Fred seem quite tame by comparison. If you are looking for 'smooth' you could try the WLH bridge with 250k volume and 500k tone control. Otherwise the 36th bridge seems like a safer option.

To get the 'beefier mids' he's looking for, he'd need to put a different alnico in it. For the bridge hybrids I make, I use an UOA5 or A2 to fill them out.
