Whole lotta humbucker

Re: Whole lotta humbucker

yes WLHs will work fine.
Just out of interest tho....why aren't you looking at the "slash" model APH set?

Re: Whole lotta humbucker

Again, the WLH set will do a great job in that guitar.

I have these is an SG and a LP. They love mahogany. And the videos don't do them justice.

Had to look up your guitar, and Here is a link to that guitar.

Please think about the following questions.
How long have you had the Epiphone?
Has the guitar been set up?
What is it doing or not doing what you want to change?
What amp are you using?
What style or styles of music do you play?

Depending upon where you get the WLH set, it can run near the price of that guitar.

Is there any chance that adjusting your pickups or readjusting your amp will get you closer to what you want?

From here, I'm going to stay out of the conversation. There are some very knowledgable musicians on this board. You might want to give them a little bit more info.

Closing thought:
Yeah, I'm all for the WLH in LP's, but I'm not generally into putting expensive upgrades into lower end guitars.

I just changed my pickup heights and I've tried so much on my amp I just can't get that jimmy page tone I want

Re: Whole lotta humbucker

I'd have spent more on the guitar. The best thing for you to do is look for used PU's online, here, on eBay, and wherever else. They can go for around half price. You can probably pickup a pair of high quality Duncans, DiMarzio's, etc for around $100. Makes a lot more sense than a top-of-the-line set of PU's in that guitar.

Re: Whole lotta humbucker

I've got a LP Studio with a WLH in the neck and a Duncan Custom in the bridge. That WLH sounds awesome and really went together well with the Custom. Definitely a 59' favor but...better!!!
