I just got this up and running yesterday.

2007 Melody Maker. Routed it for a P-90, Faber compensated TP, Steel studs/bushings, bone nut...

A great stripped down little screamer. Very light and fun to play.

Very cool. Last weekend, I was at an older collector's house and he had an original Melody Maker with a PAF installed back in that era. It looked like yours only the plastic on both sides of the humbucker was gone and there was a pickup ring in there. It still had the dome shaped piece of plastic guard above the humbucker. Yours looks better.

Thanks! I'm loving this guitar. Simple stripped down rock and roll machine.

I'm sure the vintage PAF MM was nice too. :)

I guy I used to work with in northern Cal did that too back in the 90's. He got a MM for a song at the shop we worked at. Went and installed a '59 model in it. Looked great and sounded amazing.

Oh I understand. How well does it stay in tune and where did you get one? I might want to use one now.

I use a graphite nut with locking tuners and it holds up quite well. I got mine brand new back in the day but the only place you can find them now is on ebay, they are no longer made.

All my guitars are one pup guitars... my toggle switch never gets to the neck pup ever...

Here's my single pickup guitars (I apologise for the rubbish pictures):

This is a 'Bitsa' Strat I built with the neck from a MIM Roland Ready Strat that used to belong to TO, an Ash body made by a British guitar builder called Roger Giffin, an Allparts bridge and scratchplate and a Bareknuckle Pickups Cold Sweat pickup. The pickup is quite a bright, high output ceramic affair that really shouldn't work in this guitar, but it just does for some reason. It was in no way made to emulate a Tom Delonge (sp?) Strat at all, but it's hard to avoid the comparison with this type of guitar.

This is a really cheap Tele copy that I picked up for £80 as I wanted something to just leave around the house and to take away when I went on holiday in this country etc but ended up liking the neck on it so I gutted it, had a scratchplate made for it (no replacement 1 I found would fit) and put a 12k - 13k Broadcaster style Bareknuckle Piledriver in it.

Dang whatever is leftover is expensive. You could get a genuine Original Floyd Rose for that price.
