The body came back from the paint shop. Nitro finish; Trans Surf Green. Bound top. *Tummy cut and beveled edges on the back. Haven't weighted the body, but it's in the 3-low 4 lbs range (feels about your average tele). Should be done by late Oct.

^^Thanks! You know, I kinda regret not going with a maple neck. I may go with a roasted maple neck in the future. It's going to have a rosewood/Ebony neck (not too keen on the dot placement, but it's feel great). I wanted to go D standard with this guitar and play sludge/progressive metal lol. Those specific neck woods gave a killer tele tone with a white pine body which was a bit warmer than an ash body.

As far as pickups, I would definitely go with a cream neck humbucker. I'm going with a gold coil/foil pickup in the neck. It's like a fuller single coil tone. I was looking for a different setup to the "tele" type guitars. I think the bridge is based off a broadcaster pickup.

Forgot to mention that it'll be BWB pickguard for now.

I ended up enlarging the body over that print out ^ but you get the idea.

I tweaked the control layout to be more inline with the body curve and routed it out i jsut havent taken a picture.

I'll probably royally "F" up the painting process but I have always wanted to try painting one...I picked up some parts pretty cheap ($100 + shipping on neck w/hardware & neck plate/$55 + shipping for body) so I'm going to try my hand at the the boring million times recreated Kramer EVH "5150". Gibson/Kramer "1984" Neck and a Vintage Kramer Pre-1985 Pacer Imperial Body.

Kramer EVH: Gibson/Kramer ”1984” Maple Fretboard Neck w/EVH 5150ish Striped Headstock, Vintage Kramer Pre-1985 Pacer Imperial Body which will get 5150 Stripes, Seymour Duncan SH-1N ’59 /SWD Custom Shop MJ ’78 Trembucker, DiMarzio 500K Volume/Fender TBX Tone/3 Way LP Toggle, Vintage ’86 Floyd Rose Original w/42mm Big Brass Block

Yeah, I think I'm going to have to go with a maple neck at some point. Reverse tele with cream humbucker is the plan lol. I might have the luthier make me a moderne and the same neck specs tho.

I LOVE THAT ONE KRAMERSTEEN!!! Look forward to seeing the completed product.

THANKS! i have another design with modded plans based off this. I will see how this one goes first and make changes if i feel it needs it. So far so good.

I think i will ditch the idea of the pickguard.

That's a GREAT looking piece of wood, and it would certainly look good with or without a pickguard… But I wouldn't write off the pickguard just yet. The pickguard drawn on your template looked like it would add a real nice contrast to it IMO.

mmmmmmmm i hear you man. I'm thinking white pickups, chrome hardware and a stained black cavity cover that way i get my self some contrast and a point of difference.

Agreed on the no pickguard! That's going to look sweet.

Spent hours sanding the scratches out of it and getting the arm contour right. Its going to be some work getting it ready for a stain.
