As a die-hard Boss fan, even I can appreciate the "extremely meh" feeling. I recently bought a used BYOC off RockStarNick, and it doesn't give the "meh" response. However, it isn't as versatile as the Boss, since the BYOC can't be dialed in for helicopter chop.

I keep the Tr-2 on my main board because 1) it's versatile and 2) it's reliable. I don't believe that "meh" can be detected out front.

I've owned two or three of them and always end up ditching them because of that exact feeling. They do the job, but I was just never that impressed with the sound.

I like my Mooer Trellicopter a lot better.

I'm a Mooer guy also. I've got the lo-fi machine, pure octave and the triangle fuzz and they all rock. I'm not sure what people who feel 'meh' about tremolo are expecting it to do. If you want something exceptionally sweet in the tremolo realm, you can always try a bias modulator.

I'm a Mooer guy also. I've got the lo-fi machine, pure octave and the triangle fuzz and they all rock.

I really like Mooer. I've got the Hustle Drive, Flex Boost, Trellicopter, Blues Crab, and Blue Faze. I would like to add the Green Mile, Black Secret, AnaEcho, Mod Factory and the tuner to my collection.

I'm not sure what people who feel 'meh' about tremolo are expecting it to do. If you want something exceptionally sweet in the tremolo realm, you can always try a bias modulator.

I'm not sure what it was about the Boss that I didn't like. I could get some good CCR sounds and stuff out of it, but I was never really inspired to use it except on CCR songs. I feel totally different about the Trellicopter, I'm inspired to use it, and frequently experiment with it on different songs at practice. I might even be guilty of overusing it...

I completely understand if you don't get what mehness in a trem is. Same as guys who get bent out of shape on a delay vs though who don't care (that's me - analog/digital - the only diff. Otherwise I think they are all the same 99%).

I do believe the Trelicopter is a Diaz copy. That explains Trelicopter awesome.

Matt - Slightly modulated signal tremed, that's a funky bad@$$ tone; Vibrato (or chorus/vibe/etc) set for barely perceptible + Trem = that.

I'll take "meh" any day, if the alternative is the 3PDT switch breaks in mid-set and I have to remove the pedal from the board (now THAT's "true bypass"), order a new switch from Small Bear, find the time to change it, resolder 9 wires, fix the one wire that broke off the PC board while I was messing with it, put the pedal back together again, and re-mount it on the pedalboard.

Real men are there to rock that b!tch - mediocre pedals be dammed!

But I won't do that. People who feel meh about there tremolos to the point it ruins their performance might feel bad if I said that.

I have been wondering what the Trellicopter was a copy of. Is the Diaz optical?

I did some research and found that it's actually based on the Demeter Tremulator.

play your cards right and it gives you no volume over 75% of the time. Personally, my tone is just too damn good to be digestible in any larger amounts.

I disagree that it HAS to be built into the amp, but many aFender fan might say so.

The freakin RedWitch Pentavocal is the warmest, most organic and amazing tremolo you'll ever need.

I just saw Chris Finnen use a Boss Tremolo set very subtle like a fender vibro type of sound with his acoustic. Sounded real nice but Chris's playing just oozes soul to begin with. Awesome in, awesome out.

The guy is in the Blues Hall Of Fame.
