Re: Why do i love these?!
One is 100% hand made, the other is for the most part off an assembly line. This also implies more care in the choice of woods and other materials, like for example custom pickups and hardware (or are Duncan ´78s and NOS Charvel Brass trems readily available where you are?? The Trem alone fetsches easily 300$ on eBay

)
And if you ever played one, you´ll immediately notice that it´s NOT a Fender, Not a Warmoth, but something different. Something more solid, more resonant..... something sweeter, more unique.
Comparing it to a Tom Anderson, Custom Shop Fender, Suhr , Grosh or similar is fair.... But for some reason, nobody bitches around when they sell a trrat for 2k+.... the only difference is that Charvel has been doing this 10 years longer than anybody else
Again, a Charvel strathead has been many people´s holy grail for years, and the prices on an original are double this...the specs are nearly identical to what many consider the "classic" configuration.......ANd BTW, in "the day" they were starting around 1.7k..... so we have a price increase of 800$, because the Headstock had to be licensed out, the pickup was more expensive, and it´s a limited edition
Let´s see, if Gibson stopped making Les Pauls for 20 years, do you think people would still pay the same price when they were reintroduced?? Or woule everybody also say "Get a Warmoth?"
You guys like Warmoth, and that´s fine... But at some point in time you´ll also have to realize that not everybody cares for building their own guitars, nor has the skills to do so, nor wishes to acquire them. I think pro luthiers for the most part still buying their own guitars instead of parts axes says enough.
I can understand many of the arguments, but many of you also make it very obvious that you´ve never played anything higher than a mexico strat wiith your comments.... just accept it, if this is the case, you´re just plain not qualified to make comments about a high-end custom made USA guitar, because you simply at this time have no idea of the quality difference or where that difference comes from. I don´t mean this as an insult, BTW, just want to point it out. The general lack of knowledge about what makes a difference between assembly-line and custom made guitar is appalling... I´m very literally just waiting for someone to say: buy a Squier and fill 2 of the routs, exact same guitar...
Opinions and statements like these are one of the reasons I don´t build guitars anymore, and the main reason that I constantly ponder whether I ever want to again I´m not willing to deal with hobbled!cks on a daily basis anymore, and I honestly don´t feel that anybody really cares for quality anymore...this thread is living proof. :blackeye:
Point in closing: find me ANY Handmade USA Guitar with identical specs for less or similar.... Not a Warmoth, not a production Fender, no Indonesian BS...... I currently know of NONE on the market....
