Why does seymour duncan not ship pickups to countries outside the USA?

I live in Norway. I can’t get pickups shipped directly to my country without ordering from EU websites like thomann.com or gear4music.com. The problem is that i can’t find the pickups i want. I used to really want the hot rodded red/black zebra, but could never find it in a website in europe. So i am wondering, why?

welcome to the forum!

i assume it is due to trade policies between our countries, so you have to go through an authorized dealer. there is zero reason you shouldnt be able to get what you want though. they may need to be specially ordered, so you may need to wait a bit, but you can get anything duncan offers

Chances are that is authorized dealers are contractually obligated to take your custom order and deal with it.

Well, maybe it's not so bad that they don't ship internationally. I did order a pickup off DiMarzio back when they had the Black Friday sale, and I ended up having to pay like 1.5x the price of the pickup (without discount) beween shipping and custom fees and whatnot.
