Yes, Ibanez has done some things recently that just don't make sense. Lack of finishes options and the shark tooth inlays are a real turn off for me. I'm 35... and I want plain jane dot inlays.
I love the finish on this guitar, but the damn inlay will keep me from ever owning one...
I just picked up this Prestige RG this week, and was reminded why my 93 470 was my number one guitar for seven years.
I think if Ibanez would get back to the dot inlays and some finishes that aren't black- then they would be back to the popularity there were in the early 90s. But that's just me...
