Why is it whenever I hear an ACDC song, I want an SG?

Everytime I hear ACDC on the radio or whatever, I get this massive urge to buy an SG. Back in black came on while driving to work..... I had a killer G400 Epi and sold it..
Whenever I hear ACDC, I want an SG...... Even tho the stuff can be played on any type of guitar... just seems right.. SG/marshall......

There is a certain bite that comes with an SG that can't really be faked. I had one years ago, which I sold to get a Les Paul, because I thought to myself that it would suit me more than the SG. I love the LP, but I ended up re-aquiring one this month, because they have a certain character to them. The fret being unreal is also a big plus.

Many years ago when I got my first real Gibson SG, I couldn't wait to get home and play along to some AC/DC and Judas Priest. Even through my pedal chain into a 20w Gorilla amp, the tone was way closer than it had been with my Kramer, or my LP copy.

Then I "had" to have a real LP, and a Gibson V.

While the tones were there, I found them more and more disagreeable, so off they went to greener pastures.

I sometimes peruse Ebay and add a few things to my Watchlist, but I'm more than happy with my Jacksons.

You need an SG Std yourself. Look what Angus does with his.

His tone is raw and he plays with a lot of grit. What isn't to like? But let's not forget the amp he's got adds to that as well.

Marshall JMP and SG are a good match, but so are the JMP and LP, ES 335, and plenty others ( I speak from experience )

Because you don't realize that what you really want is a Gretsch Jet Firebird.

I agree on the Gretsch but yeah especially the early stuff. I want that sound, I'll take an SG and something with Filtertrons with a mean, edgy amp.

I've been on a big ACCA kick lately.

Ol' Angus Young gets this nutty "warble" on his leads thats awesome. If I can save up some loot, I'm going to bide my time and wait for some cat whos selling an older SG thats been refretted with Jumbos. I dig SG's, and Gibsons, but the fret size..not so much. My Les Paul XPL has been refretted and I love it a lot more.
I also want Filtertrons, and in fact I have a set of Filtertron humbuckers laying around waiting for a Tele or some other guitar one day hopefully.

Get over it. You'd have to BE Angus Young and play through Marshalls turned way up loud to pull it off.

Your neighbors and your wife might not like it. ;)

Angus usues a mic'd amp under the stage, and a pickup that I think is about 10K wound by the Great Seymour Duncan, so I'm not so sure you need that devastating volume, plus he's also using some kind of pedal, or he did.
Now the eraly days was Balls 2 the Wall Plexi.

I still kind of want to try some Filtertrons in my SG, even though some people tell me it would be a disaster! ;)

Yeah. I like big frets and I cannot lie, you other brothers cant deny.....


I did have a black Epi 400 that I put a C5 in and it was pretty sweet. There def is a diff vibe with a SG

Screw those people. 3 Filtertrons in an SG would most likely sound absolutely awesome.
