Why is there no Boss Fuzz pedals ?

Re: Why is there no Boss Fuzz pedals ?

Just like Gretch. Or rockabilly music. All just generic crap. Unless of course you know how to use the pedal.

how is gretsch generic?

way more than rockabilly players use em

and rockabilly is only generic if you're a bad guitarist

That was my point. By the wording of your posts it doesn't sound like you have any real experience with boss pedals. I'm sure that you can get better boutique stuff out there, but I completely disagree that all boss pedals are generic and only good after mods. It's as silly to say as "all rockabilly is crap" or "all gretsch guitars are crap". To paraphrase from what you said: "Those pedals are only crap if you're a bad guitarist."

Re: Why is there no Boss Fuzz pedals ?

To the dude who asked what a fuzz is...In the days before high gain amps and pedals some people used to cut slits in their speakers so the cone would flap a little creating a fuzzy tone. Later pedal builders found that they could easily duplicate that sound with transistors and diodes and the fuzz pedal was born. Guitar players loved em because you could turn it on and off whenever they liked, and didn't have to cut up their speakers!

because boss makes generic crap that isn't any good unless you pay someone to mod em
Using the word "generic" to describe something made by a specific company doesn't really lend credibility to your opinions.

Yeah, most pedals can be improved by modding them, but so can most anything.

I'm just saying i've never played a boss pedal i was 100% satisfied with. There's always something out there in the same price range that does a better job.

probably because boss pedals are designed mathmatically now

Can you qualify this statement? I don't care if you don't like something, but if you can't give reasons or explanations for your views then it's not really very helpful to anyone reading these posts. I don't know of any pedal that is designed without someone who knows their math/electronics to get the circuit right. (Actually, I'd be pretty nervous to buy a pedal that isn't designed mathematically. That would mean that someone just soldered a couple of resistors/ capacitors/ potentiometers/ and power supply together and hoped for the best.)
