I just got back from getting the Marshall Cabinet about 45 minutes or so ago. It sounds fantastic!! I grabbed my lil cheapie Gibson SG JR with the one P-90 and let'er rip tater chip. I was blown away. I got pretty close to my tone that I've always recorded with with my Line6 AX2/212...and that was just me tinkering around and only turning some knobs for about 30 seconds. I think I'm gonna run both of them together tommorrow just for the heck of it to see how it sounds. I'm soooooooo stoked man.

I'm one of you guys now. I actually own some "real" amps now.:) :) Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!


Oh yeah, the only things wrong with the cab are the loopty doop in the M is missing and there's one small tear on the right side of the cab. But who cares man, I'm gonna rock!!

Nice setup Jolly, those 2 together should sound killer. I really wish I could have a half stack, they're so loud tho. I rarely get to turn my little orange combo over 3 as it is.

for sure, dont be afraid to try and mix and match (without pushing the marshall cab too hard, i dunno what the power handling of the 5150 would do)

I think the most amazing part of your post is that you mentioned you got close to the tone of your Line 6 :D. Usually, when most people have a killer, multi-channel stereo tube rig at their disposal - the last thing they want is to try to dial in anything near the likes of Line 6.

Just messing with you Jolly ;). Awesome rig man - I know that kicks because I've played both of those amps plenty of times before! :fing2:

Actually man, it has the g12t75's in it. For some reason I like those more than the Vintage 30's, but that's just me. God bless my buddy for 20 some odd years (MrHeavyMetal on here) for letting me borrow his cabinet a couple of weeks ago. Great friend he is I tell ya!! Anyways, he has the same cabinet, but he's a vintage 30 kinda guy. He replace his g12t75's with the V30's. Now mind you, it sounded great, but it just wasn't my bag man. I never really geled with those speakers. Once again, they sounded great, but just weren't me man. Some way and/or some sort they were just too high endy, fizzy, something to me. I plugged my head into this cab with the same settings I had with his V30 loaded cab and it was different. No high end fizziness thing goin on. All it needed was for me to turn up my mids and treble a bit and I was at "my" sound. I just couldn't find "my" sound and tone with the Vintage 30's. You'll never hear me say anything bad about the speakers, but they just aren't me per se. Anyways, once again a humongus thank you to my lifelong buddy MrHeavyMetal for letting me use his cab a few weeks ago for a couple of weeks. That's what friends are for.:)

I'm bout to go in there and crank up Amber here in a couple of few. It's my Gibson Les Paul Classic loaded with the double jazzes. It's my #1 guitar and what I pretty much revolve my entire tone around. it needs new strings, but I'll let ya'll know how it turns out anyways.:). I just need a couple of more sips and a tuning beforehand.

It's hard to explain man. It kinda is I reckon. I can get some of the most amazing sounds and tones out of my Line6 AX2/212....and you'll never ever hear me say anything bad about an awesome modeling amp like that. However, I really get it now man. I get it.:) I always played with a couple of guys in bands years ago with Marshall's and they always sounded great. I recon I just succumbed to the digital sound. Cause it works great for me at low voluiumes and all, especcially when recording. Anyways, I totally forgot how totally awesome it sounds to have a killer tube amp cranked. I'm not sure if I'm gonna watch some porn at the moment or just crank my amp again and bust one on it. I really did forget hoe awesome and orgasmic a cranked tube amp sounds. I love this man. I've never really had one. I'm in the spirit world man....almost.

Nice!!!!!! 5150s are incredible amps! I can't talk too much about the new Marshalls, but the 800 and jmp I've got are awesome. So that's a 3 channel head? You mean you can get a clean Marshall sound????? The end is nigh. :lol:

It's four channel head actually. Each channel has three different modes. I can go from a pretty decent good clean sound to pitchforks up your ass good clean rockin metal distortion. It suits my needs.

PLAY SOME RATM WITH BOTH RIGGED TOGETHER!!!! That would sound soooooooooooo huge. I take it there's going to be a lot of metal on JOLLY's block for the next few days. That's a nice rig. Why have one full-stack when you can have two different halves?
