I guess that means Simon is neutered now! I've had a 5150 before, and played that JVM for awhile at GC, so I know what they'd sound like combined....lucking a crushing wall of kickass.

Just kidding Jollster. You have some very nice amp-age/cab-age there. I've been itching for a 5150 myself. I don't know a guitarist who doesn't either own or want to own the same cab you now have.

Nice! I really like the 5150 with the GT75s too. How is the Peavey cab different? I haven't tried one.

I recon I just succumbed to the digital sound. Cause it works great for me at low voluiumes and all, especcially when recording. Anyways, I totally forgot how totally awesome it sounds to have a killer tube amp cranked.

That's exactly how it happens. You'll still get the most out of your digital stuff, but after a couple of hours, you can just crank one of those amps for a quick reality check. Good to hear about a guy enjoying his acquisitions.

i pretty much want the same rig... i have the 5150 so far... the JMV would be great!!!! i'd use my switching system so i could choose which head i want on at a time....

Cool stuff man. Cranking a tube amp really is an experience like no other! It's crazy how the louder you go, the better they sound too.

However, I think you need a Bassman half stack and an ENGL/Diezel/Bogner or some other exotic half stack to complete the rig.

I haven't exactly compared them, but I was playing the Marshall through the 5150 cabinet up until yesterday. I haven't really done any side by side comparisons or anything. I do however know that cabinet is perfect with the JVM. I actually believe the head was designed using that cabinet and those speakers. It sounds way better with that cabinet than it did with the 5150 cab.

Nah, those really aren't me and my playing/music style. They're great, but they just aren't me.
