I really want to see if the Custom Shop would make me a set of pickups that are spec'd like the Bonamassa set. I have been falling back in love with my LP again but need a new set of pups. I've heard a bunch of people using them and really like the tone! I didn't realize they were a limited run though. Does anyone know if you can request something like that made?

Within reason. They're not anxious to jump off roofs or break the law. As far as PU's go, they bend over backwards to please customers.

So you can't find a Bonamassa set for sale anymore? I imagine they would wind a set for you or at least something very similar if they are no longer legally able to wind the Bonamassas.

Just ask the custom shop for a pair of pickups that sound like the Bonamassa set. They will know what you want.

I asked the Custom Shop for a double cheeseburger, and while they couldn't make me one, they did help me find a nice place that could.

They should be able to help you out, they really will do just about anything, 9 string slanted pickups, custom engineered active pickups, etc - it's just a matter of cost and time. They should be able to wind you a set with similar specs to the Joe Bonamassa pickups (those ran out some 4-6 months ago).

One thing they couldn't/wouldn't do a few years back is white bobbin parallel axis pickups. I can only assume it's still the case.
It was later explained to me it's because they don't have white pa bobbins and won't make unless some big company starts using them.
Maybe a little bit off-topic but there you go.

In my experience it is best to call to get the ball rolling. The final details concerning what you want and what they will do and for what price can be confirmed in writing later.
