Wire Caps vs. Solder?

So I'm thinking of using wire caps for this one project. Specifically, I have two leads coming off of the speaker terminals direct that I would connect to the two leads coming from my amp tarnsformer ( Amp is a vintage Ampeg Mercury) .

So I would just use two correct size wire caps instead of soldering the two leads together.

In general though, would there be any appreciable difference in the amount of conductance with wire caps vs. soldering?

I don't think it's a good idea. If those wire nuts fall off inside the cab, you could fry your amp.

Crimped, uninsulated sleeve to press the two conductors together, solder, heatshrink.
