The one thing I'd add is, on a on-off-on switch, wire the outside two terminals to ground, and the inside terminal to the "hot" of the output jack. Then remember . . . the switch needs to be in the middle to be "on".

that's just silly, it's usually designed so if you hit it by accident you don't cut the sound off fully. that's why it's usually a on/off/on state. therefore pointless wired off/on/off.
i know i want a standard kill swithc setup. I just don't wanna wire something that wont work.
