Re: Wiring diagram for Kramer 6000?

Try this. You could use 500k or a 250k pot. The 250k will smooth out the singles but darken the humbucker. The 500k will sound good with the humbucker but may be too bright for the singles. If you have a 500k pot you could add a 150k resistor where the ground lug is that would give you a 300K (+ -) pot that would be a happy medium.

thanks only thing is, the on offs have 6 lugs and Im not sure which to use. Also, there is a wire that connects all 3 switches and grounds on the pot

Re: Wiring diagram for Kramer 6000?

They are on/on switches.
I was looking for a wiring diagram as well.
Mine is a H/S/H configuration. I took out one of the mini toggle switches and put in a tone knob. I need to know how to wire it up so that I can turn the bridge and neck humbuckers on and off. I am not going to use the middle single coil pickup.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Oh hell. I didn't even catch that...LOL. I'm obviously tired.

Yeah, it helped. Got to get silver solder though. It mysteriously disappeared! Rosin core just isn't getting it for soldering the ground wires to the pots! Thanks for the help! Much appreciated!

Re: Wiring diagram for Kramer 6000?

Just use one side of the switches, 3 in a row in the direction the switch toggles.

This Pacer Custom diagram is the same wiring as your Focus. Should be considering the 6000 is the sister guitar of the Pacer Custom.

I have a Focus 6000 with this configuration and have a couple of questions about this wiring diagram. The wiring on my guitar was made a mess of by the prior owner and I am trying to get it back in order.

1) There is not a value given for the capacitor or the volume control in the diagram. This guitar had a 500K pot, but no capacitor in it when I got it. Is that the correct value for the pot, and what is the correct value for the capacitor?

2) I read the suggestion made in post #2 above, but don't quite understand exactly where the resistor goes (i.e., between what 2 points).

3) It appears that the mini switches (DPDT on-on) are essentially used as SPST switches. Am I reading that right? I wanted to put new ones in but couldn't find the exact switches that are in the guitar, but the SPST switches are easily available. Any reason I couldn't use those?

Thanks much for any help anyone might provide.

Psyclops did you ever get it sorted out? I have a F6000 2 singles 1 hum w/ split switch. I'm struggling with the wiring and curious to see if you got it figured out. If you can you send me a pic of what's going on in the back? I've got 3 250k pots on mine.

that sounds like a pretty different configuration. might be best to start a new thread for your specific needs, this one started 18 years ago.

the cap mentioned is for a treble bleed which isnt necessary and the value varies depending on how much treble you want to bleed as you roll down the volume. i dont usually care for them.
