I added a SD JB Jr pickup in the Bridge of my Strat:banghead:.I have two different versions of how this should be done. The diagram that came with the pickup stated "When wiring with fender pickups reverse the black and green. Black to ground and green to the switch. Does anyone know for sure if this is the correct way or do I need to try both ways and just go by sound>>please help..Thanks bbur61

Re: Wiring JB Jr in Bridge on my Strat

I would go by the instructions 1st and if the pups sound out of phase after that, reverse the wires. I have two guitars with JB-Junior, but the other two pups ar SD as well. I have standard series wiring with the Black to the switch and green to the vol pot. It is only going to make a difference on the 2 position of the 5 way selector. If you don't use the 2 position, it should not matter.

Are you splitting the coils on the jb or doing straight series?

I'm not splitting the coil doing it standard. How does your strat sound with all sd pickups. I have thought about a duckbuster and lil 59. but hate to lose all of the classic fender sound..thanks for your help

Re: Wiring JB Jr in Bridge on my Strat

Well, part of the "classic Fender sound" is a single in the bridge, so splitting the bridge with a push pull or S1 will give you both the classic single coil and H-S-S tones.

Re: Wiring JB Jr in Bridge on my Strat

That is exactly what I have on both guitars. I love the set. The duckbucker, as long as you wire it in parallel like the instructions say to, is close enough to classic single coil sound for my purposes.

I liked the set in my first guitar enough to rip out the full size JB/59 in my second guitar and build a new pick guard with the triple set.

If you do this... One side note is SD means it when they recommend 250k pots. I tried it it 500K pots and it was extremely harsh and weak on the bottom end.
