Wiring P-Rails help

The guitar: 2 P-Rails, 1 volume push/pull, 1 tone push/pull, 3 way toggle. It's a Michael Kelly Patroit Limited my brother gave me, and the pickups are direct mount, so the Tripple Shots are a last resort.

I have the diagram for that configuration and can hook em up that way...BUT...in that config, the P90's requires both push/pulls to be pulled out. Since I intend to use the P90's most, I would prefer both push/pulls to be "in" for the P90's. It's just an aesthetic thing that I let bug the crap out of me. So, I would prefer P90's = Down/Down on the push/pulls and then the Rails and/or Parallel in any other way at all.

I went through 7 pages of P-Rail post and didn't find what I was looking for, though I think "Doc(?)" got close. I also spent a few hours with graph paper, drawing little 6 section boxes with wire codes written in them to no avail. I just can't seem to get my head around it.

Any help is appreciated! And I'll try to insert a link to the SD wiring diagram.

Re: Wiring P-Rails help

No problem. Basically just rotate the wiring diagram by 180* (or mirror the contacts top to bottom, works too). Then down = P90s.

Re: Wiring P-Rails help

A push-pull pot, (like a DPDT switch), only has two positions:

To reverse the operation of the switch, (up for down), just reverse the diagram for the switch. In other words, rotate it (in the diagram) by 180 deg's.

Make sense?

Edit: Leave the center lugs as they are. Move the bottom wires to the top two lugs, and vice-versa.

Re: Wiring P-Rails help

Uhhhh, ya know when I said the P90's were active when both push/pulls were pulled out? Well, I got that wrong too. For P90's, the Vol. p/p is down and the Tone p/p is up. So...any more thought?

Re: Wiring P-Rails help

Just swap the one that has to be up to get the P90.

Re: Wiring P-Rails help

I will do that! Tone pot only, leave center lugs as is, reverse lugs 1,2 to lugs 5,6, and 5,6 to 1,2.

Thanks!
