Wiring recommendation

I’m trying to create the ultimate versatile Strat setup that will cover everything from classic rock to jazz to country. I’ve settled on the following p/u combo.
Lil 59 Neck
SSL 1 Middle
SSL 5 Bridge

I have the neck wired with auto split, for position 4 (neck, middle).
But I miss the neck as a single coil by itself. My idea is to use a push/pull pot as an extra split option for the neck pickup by itself, but I’m also thinking of doing The Gilmour 7 way mod with the other pole of the push pull. Does this make sense? Will the sound of the Lil ‘59 split by itself be worth it?
How will the Lil 59 neck sound split when combined with the SSL-5 Bridge? Any other wiring ideas welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Wiring recommendation

The lil 59 doesn't split well because the tiny poles have bad string coverage and sounds weak. Cool Rails has great string coverage because of the rails. I also recommend a neck bridge blender knob to use for your 7 way switching because it gives you more sounds than both pups on full.

Awesome choices [emoji4]

Just my opinion below, YMMV etc

The Lil 59 is great but I don’t really like it split I think it’s fine for combining but not on its own. If you want a less hot sound on its own I would make the push pull put it in parallel rather than split it.

The other thing I would consider is getting the SSL5 with tap to be able to get lower output in particular when you combine it with the middle.

Finally, unless you have vintage radius I would encourage you to get flat poles in the middle, so an SSL2 instead of SSL1.

Re: Wiring recommendation

The series/parallel idea actually sounds pretty good. Would you be able to point me to a diagram to do the following:

Push/Pull Down
1 Bridge
2 Bridge/middle
3 Middle
4 Middle/Neck(split)
5 Neck(series)

Push/Pull Up
1 Bridge
2 Bridge/middle
3 Middle
4 Middle/Neck(split)
5 Neck(parallel)

I'd like to achieve with a standard 5 way and P/P DPDT if possible.

This? (but obviously swap the neck and bridge since you have the HB in neck)
