I finally bought a set of pickups for my HSH ibanez. Yeah I've been deliberating, asking for advice, and changing my mind for about 2 years since I bought the thing but I finally decided. I've been kinda naughty and I bought a set of dimarzios but I know you guys will help a brother out !
What I got were a set of Evolutions (except with the SDS-1 in the middle) and I wanna do a cool versatile wiring scheme. I bought a push/pull pot with it.
See the guitar was set up for auto split from the factory, and I do like that set of 5 tones but I miss my bridge/neck tone you usually get in the middle with a HH setup.
And I feel like the non-split bridge/middle and neck/middle are too good to sacrifice for auto split . It'd be nice to have ALL the options available somehow. So I could rock it as an 'SSS' , Strat style,(the Evo's sound great split. From the clips I've heard. One of my main buying factors.) You know I'd mostly play in the 2 and 4 positions here but I feel like 1, 3 and 5 would still be useful in some situations.
But then could I also have all the non-split combinations AND have my middle position actually be the bridge/neck? I feel like I have to pick one or the other, cause if I wire it like that then I won't be able to have my "middle single coil only" tone in 'SSS' mode.
So yeah, any suggestions how you would do it or what you think would sound nice would be appreciated fellas.
