Wiring up a screwed up strat pickguard

Hey guys,
So on a whim I picked up an epiphone strat(S310) off craigslist-it's ok, but the previous owner did some crazy wiring in there. He did say he tried some stuff in there when I asked him about some of the strange/thin tones coming out.

I want to try to go back to the default strat wiring, but I'm stuck because each single coil has 3 wires, red, white, and bare. All the wiring schemes I've seen only had 2 wires, so I'm not sure what to do here. Not sure which wire should go to the switch(I think he's currently using white for the neck and middle pups, red for bridge) and if so, do I put the unused wire and bare to the ground?

Any insight is appreciated!

The bare wire would be the earth for the base plate I guess. Normally twist with the end of the ground wire and ground as normal.

A photo would help.

Thanks man. I'll try to get some pics but there's a lot of wires in there, not sure how helpful it would be. I figured one if the wires go with the bare, so I'm not sure how it's working right now with one wire being ignored??

Actually I looked again, the neck and middle red and bare are connected to ground, but the bridge pup has the white and bare to ground...is that right? I figure these are all the same vendor pup so red would always go with the bare wire?

Not necessarily - you don't know what previous owners may have done....
