Wiring ?

Hi,I have a '59 model humbucker, it has one braided wire lead. I am wanting to hook it up with a 5way switch and my '59 Trembucker(with 3 leads). The diagrams I find show 3 wires from each pup needed. Any ideas, or did I get the wrong pup(1 wire)? Yes these are going on a Strat. I'm new at this so any help would be great.
Thanks

Re: Wiring ?

The standard spaced (nontrembucker) 59s have single conductors usually, it is a special order for the 4 conductor wire you will want for H-H on a 5 way switch. You could put it in as-is, but your positions would be Neck, Neck, Neck+Bridge, Bridge split, Bridge, assuming you're wiring it the typical way.

Re: Wiring ?

Normally Duncan HB's are either 1 lead or 4 (the extra wire being ground). You'll need both PU's to have multiple leads. Your neck '59 can easily be converted to 4 lead by someone who knows what they're doing, although it doesn't seem likely that you're that person. Probbaly better off getting the right neck PU, and looking for the missing lead in your bridge PU.
